Social Skills
Lack of social skills, social anxiety, social phobia, shyness, tongue-tied when new meeting new people - whatever you call it, it all means the same thing - acute discomfort and awkwardness in social situations. You hate going to parties, in fact, you hate going anywhere where new people may be - which is nearly everywhere.
And if you’re in business, networking is a nightmare and to be avoided. So to make matters worse, your lack of social skills may be costing you money too. Company gatherings, school casino night fundraisers, important business meetings, or even discussions with your administrative assistant are missed or made excuses for. This doesn't have to be the case for you, and there is hope. You can do all this and more without lasting fear hanging over you.
Many people ‘fake’ it - they inwardly cringe while wearing a smiling face and coming up with something inane to say. The people in this category are not as bad off as those who are tongue-tied completely and avoid social situations like the plague. For them, having good conversation skills and being at ease in social situations is a nightmare, and influences everything they do.
There are strategies you can use to overcome social phobia, that will turn your whole life around. Even if you are a ‘faker’, these strategies will help you feel a lot more at ease in social situations, so you can concentrate on the important things, and not on how well you are ‘performing’ during the conversation.
